Most of our math work (and Montessori work in general) comes from our Keys to the World albums. As a supplement, and because I love books, I also pick and choose various supplemental works from Math at Their Own Pace.
One of the lessons in that book is quantity matching cards, which recommends having 1 set of key cards and 3 sets of quantity cards using different objects. Apple and I have done this work a few times recently, but before we could, we needed appropriate materials. Since I haven’t introduced him to the number symbols yet (he’s just not that into it math yet—which is fine), I made Key cards that had both the number symbols and the quantity on them. And since it’s fall, I used some nice watercolors of natural objects that would be nicely countable.
I thought there might be other families out there looking for a simple and easy math works for introducing their children to quantities, so I figured I’d share this little pdf I made! Click here to download!
Please leave me feedback if you use this download, and as always I’d love if you’d tag me in any photos of you using this material… I just love seeing other little ones at work and having fun learning!
Lots of love and best wishes on your learning journey!
